Sr. Susan's Mission

A member of the Sisters of St. Francis Oldenburg, Indiana, Sr. Susan is presently stationed at the Church of the Good Shepard in Campton, Kentucky, our twin parish.

Twice a year our parish collects new and slightly used items to donate to Sr. Amy's store at the easterly end of the Bert Combs Mountain Parkway in the foothills of Appalachia.

Tender Mercies

Tender Mercies was established in 1985 to answer the need for affordable and safe housing for homeless people in the Cincinnati area suffering from emotional or mental disorders.

While Tender Mercies receives funding from the Hamilton County Mental Health Board, The United States Department of Housing and Urban Development, the City of Cincinnati and the United Way there is still need for donations of money and time. Since two of the founders of this group were Franciscan friars, St. Clement Parish has been active in offering support to Tender Mercies for the last 25 years. On the second Thursday of each month members of the parish gather to make dinner for the residents. The meals are subsidized with donations from St. Clement parishioners.

Sandwiches for Catholic Worker & Soup Kitchens

Brother Conrad responded to the needs of the new catholic worker community in Over-the-Rhine Cincinnati twelve years ago by inspiring parishioners and staff of St. Clement School and Roger Bacon High School to gather regularly to make nutritious meals and sandwiches for the guests of the St. Francis - St. Joseph Catholic Worker House in Over-the-Rhine Cincinnati.

Giving Tree

The Advent and Christmas seasons are a time for giving. Parishioners are invited to take an ornament from the Giving Tree. The ornaments contain a food, financial, or other requests that are needed by our neighbors. Collected items are then given to the Saint Francis Seraph Soup Kitchen ministry.

Parish Assistance - St. Vincent DePaul

'For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, a stranger and you welcomed me, naked and you clothed me, ill and you cared for me, in prison and you visited me.’

This passage from Matthew guides our Parish Assistance and St. Vincent DePaul Societies. We are neighbors helping neighbors. During difficult times, our programs help by offering financial and resource assistance. We bring a caring presense and faithfilled response to the needs before us. Tau House - a Volunteer Program

Presently residing in the former parish convent is the Tau House (formerly Franciscans for the Poor). 

One of the six programs provided by Franciscan Ministries, Inc in the Cincinnati area, the Tau offers youth, young adult, and adult groups the opportunity to spend a week living simply in community while volunteering during the day for area non-profit organizations.  Over 500 people participate annually, contributing more than 10,000 hours of service to the Cincinnati community.

Franciscan Ministries grew out of the community work of the Franciscan Sisters of the Poor.  In keeping with their Franciscan heritage, these ministries focused on serving those in need. The Ministries are an extension of this long history of service to the poor.
